One Light, Many Faces

Teaching:

There is no existence but His. Everything you see is the One wearing countless masks. The rose and the thorn, the saint and the sinner all arise from the same Ocean of Being. To see division is to forget Source, to see unity is to awaken to Truth.

Practice:

Look at one person today, truly look and silently say, "You too are his reflection." Let this remembrance soften your heart, dissolving judgement and separation.

    

Contemplation Question:

When I look at another, do I see their form or the Light that shines through them?

Every face, every sound, every breath is the Beloved speaking to you in disguise.

Gurbani Reflection:

"Aval Allah Noor Upaya, Kudrat Ke Sab Bande, Ek Noor Te Sab Jag Upjya, Kaun Bhale Ko Mande."

(First, the Creator created the Light, from this Light, all beings were made. So how can anyone be called good or bad when the same Light pervades all?") 

 

Comparative Reflection - Sufism:

In Sufism, this truth is known as Wahdat al-Wujud, the Unity of Being. Ibn Arabi taught that all forms are mirrors reflecting the One Reality. When you see with the eye of the heart, you no longer say "this is God" and "this is not." You whisper instead: "Only God is."
