Mother, Walk With Me
Teaching:
When I walk slowly, with full awareness, I feel my late mother walking beside me. Her steps echo in mine, her breath flows through mine. She is not behind me, she is within me. Every cell carries her life. When I touch the earth with care, my mother touches it through me. When we walk mindfully, all our ancestors walk with us. There is no separation, only the continuing thread of love.
Practice:
Walk slowly today. Breathe fully, with awareness. With each step, whisper in your heart: "Mother, walk with me." Feel her presence in the rhythm of your steps, in the warmth of your body, in the steady beat of your heart. Even if she is no longer here, know that she lives in every breath you take.
Contemplation Question:
If my mother's love lives in me, how can I act so that she smiles through my life?
Reminder of the Day:
Walk slowly. Breathe fully. Feel the presence of those who love you, past and present moving within you. Every step is a gift. Every breathe carries their care. Walk with gratitude, walk with awareness and remember, you are never truly alone.
Gurbani Reflection:
"Pavan Guru, Pani Pita, Mata Dharat Mahat."
- Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Ang 8.
("Air is the Guru, water the father, the great earth the mother. To walk upon the earth with gratitude is to honor our mother, the one who holds us, feed us, forgives us.")
Comparative Reflection - Sufism:
"We are all born of Love. Love is our mother." - Rumi.
In Sufism, the mother reflects Divine Mercy, Rahma, God's tender compassion. To walk with awareness is to walk with this Motherly Presence within. To walk in remembrance (zikr) is to walk with the Beloved, the same Love that gave us life.
Reflection by Writer:
"Mummy Ji, I feel your quiet smile rise within me. It is not memory, it is presence. You live in the light I carry. I never walk alone. Forgive me Mummy. I love you always, forever."
